Research: Music Video

What I learnt:
  • One thing that I learnt from looking at different music videos is the importance of a performer. The performer in a music video only works if it is in time and of good quality, the performer needs to match the music video that is being created and needs to be somewhat believable to the audience.
  • Another thing that I learnt from looking at existing music videos is the idea of using different locations. By using as many locations in a music video will make an impact on the final video that is created as it makes the final video become more exciting and interesting for the audiences.
  • When creating a music video, I also learnt that the variation in shot types and lengths is something that needs to be considered. By including close ups of individuals and props allows the significance of it to be noticed by the audience, where as in a long shot, many different things are being shown, which makes it harder to for the audience to identify the important things that are menat to be happening in the specific shot.
  • Another thing that I learnt from looking at existing music videos is the idea of quality. The quality and standard of the video clips make a big impact on the final video that is created, and how people view it. A high quality video is something that the audience is more likely to want to watch as it looks appealing. Adding on to this if a video is of high quality, it also allow the audience to see the time and effort that has been spent on the video, making people want to continue watching to show their appreciation for what has been created.
